Data spaces as a vehicle for mobility in the data economy

Data spaces are ecosystems where data, AI services and ICT infrastructures can be shared between different entities with a common goal and common governance rules. It is currently the fundamental pillar to facilitate and boost the data economy in any sector. In this session you will learn about the basic principles of data spaces, their application to mobility and the call currently underway by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

ROUND TABLE | BATTERIES

Power on wheels: battery advances and challenges

Electric mobility has established itself as the main paradigm for sustainable mobility and, as a result, batteries have become a crucial element in accelerating the transition to cleaner mobility. Today, all actors in the value chain face a number of shared challenges in ensuring the range, efficiency, sustainability, durability and safety of batteries. In this roundtable we will address the latest technological developments in this area, as well as the challenges ahead from different perspectives: industry, research and regulation.

ROUND TABLE | RECHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE

Beyond fossil fuels, plugged into the electricity revolution

Improving and integrating the charging experience into the everyday user experience and bringing high-power charging stations to the most isolated locations is a critical challenge in the transition to electric mobility. The growing demand for energy for electric vehicle charging poses obstacles in environments with limited electrical capacity or in contexts of large fleets with different vehicle typologies. In this roundtable we explore future scenarios and innovative ways to address this challenge, whether through photovoltaic generation or by giving a second life to electric vehicle batteries.

ROUND TABLE | MULTIMODAL TRANSPORT

Multimodality as a solution to reduce vehicle and traffic use

Encouraging the use of public transport is a key policy to reduce the impact of mobility in terms of pollution, congestion and noise. However, it is no easy task to combine economic profitability with the provision of a quality service with wide territorial coverage and high frequency. In this round table we will review the current situation and challenges in the Basque Country, discuss demand-responsive bus initiatives to improve access to public transport in rural areas and at night and delve into revolutionary solutions for the not-so-distant future.

ROUND TABLE | AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE

Decoding the new age of mobility: the future is autonomous

The future of mobility lies in connected and autonomous vehicles, but how many years are still to go before this futuristic vision of mobility is complete? The autonomous vehicle revolution will involve many challenges related to safety, technology and ethics, and requires safe environments to facilitate experimentation before going to market. In this roundtable, we will review the latest technological advances in the development of automated vehicles of different categories, the new software architectures that are essential for their operation and the importance of experimental circuits.
